Spooky Flute

£5.00

Create an X-Files type whistley synth warble,  or raise the spirits like Black Widow in 1972… Ideal for dancing around a Maypole made of bones, or for burning sacrifices in a wicker man…

Description

This instrument uses just 3 long samples of a wooden flute to create a spooky synth flute that can be made to sound like something Vangelis might use, or the warbling whistle of the X-Files theme. It goes from screechy ghost wails down to throbbing menace.

The samples can be played randomly or selected individually for more stability. The instrument includes adjustable chorus and grain effects to increase the warbling and wobbliness. The release time can be adjusted to make it play short, punchier notes or more pad-like, ambient drones.

A second version of the instrument is included, which randomly changes the start position of the sample, creating a more unpredictable and ever-changing instrument.

Kaboodle Sound instrument and FX demos are made to show the sound of the instrument or effect. They are mostly made using generative and random techniques and try to avoid specific genres.

An included Stereo Widener rack adds a classic stereo widening effect using short delay and detuning. This effect includes an adjustable crossover that ensures the bass remains in mono.

The simplicity of this instrument belies its playability and atmospheric potential. Have fun with it!
